Mia was born in Pensacola, FL and later moved with her family to San Diego. On July 12, 1953, Mia married the charming and handsome James Swanson.
Throughout her life, Mia was a constant source of love, support, compassion, laughter, and grace. Her unwavering faith in God and timeless devotion to her family was an inspiration that will serve as her enduring legacy. After Jim passed away in 1996, Mia moved from Paradise Hills to Tierrasanta to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Her time with us was nothing short of a gift from God. She will be greatly missed.
Mia is survived by her daughter, Diane Brown (Rusty) of San Diego, her grandchildren, Michael Thomason (Tara) of Greenwich, Conn, Alex Thomason, a citizen of the world and James Swanson of Sand Diego, and great-grandson, Pierce. Mia is also survived by her brother, Edward Cheek of Crescent City, FL and sister Barbara Griffith of Chula Vista.
Mia was predeceased by her husband and great love, Jim, and their son, Timothy. She is also predeceased by her brother, James Cheek.
