Barbara (Barbie) Louise Peckham Perreault died on December 31, 2013. In her 90 years, she lived a vibrant life and inspired many people with her quiet determination. She was born on April 21, 1923 and raised in Plainville MA by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Peckham. She worked at the family bakery while at Plainville High School, where she fell in love with classmate William D. Perreault. They were married in 1944 and lived in New York and then Washington before moving to Atlanta in 1955. Later they lived in Los Angeles, but 30 years ago returned to Atlanta where they have had many lifelong friends. Mrs. Perreault was preceded in death by her husband and also by her daughter, Janet Perreault Connor. She is survived by her son, William Perreault, Jr. and his wife Pam and their children: Suzanne (and her husband Ian) Blakely and Will (and his wife Emily) Perreault and their daughter Arden. Janet’s daughter, Connie Betts Rotondi and her children Mathew, Jessica and Hope Rotondi, have also brought “Gammy” much joy, as have Barbie’s beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perreault was a member of Sandy Spring United Methodist Church. She was a true internationalist and traveled to more than 40 countries—initially to help her husband with his work in international aviation sales and exhibitions, such as the annual Paris Air Show, and then later traveling simply because they loved meeting new people and learning about unfamiliar places. She was also an avid gardener, pianist, golfer, cook, and appreciator of long vistas. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Perrault’s life at 3:30 pm on Sunday, January 5th at the Huntcliff Summit Essex Room, 6th floor, 8592 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
