Betty Ruth Johnston

Betty Ruth (Craddock) Johnston, 86, an adored and much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully August 14th, 2013 with her family present. Ruth was born December 6, 1926 in Miami, FL and resided in Sandy Springs, GA for the past 32 years. Ruth graduated from Commercial High in Atlanta, GA in 1946. She then married the love of her life and they enjoyed a romance that lasted for the next 67 years. After raising her children to adulthood she pursued a career in civil service and continued on as an awarded employee until her retirement. Ruth was known for her unwavering kindness and her ability to love unconditionally. Her husband, Edward A. (Pat) Johnston, Jr., preceded her in death, only 3 short weeks ago. Her daughter, Patricia Johnston, also preceded her in death. Ruth is survived by her son Stephen F. Johnston, Sr., 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews. The family will receive friends during visitation beginning at 12pm Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Sandy Springs Chapel in Sandy Springs. Her Memorial Service at 1pm and then her interment at Arlington Memorial Park in the Sunrise Mausoleum will follow. Lunch will be available during visitation.
