A California native, Kent grew up with a love for the beach and surfing. 60 years ago, he met the love of his life, Judy, and Kent’s pharmaceutical job took them to Memphis, Tennessee, followed by 38 years in Marietta, Georgia.
An early retirement allowed Kent and Judy to spend their golden years spoiling their two grandchildren and two nieces. He was one of the proudest grandfathers and uncles you could ever meet.
Kent enjoyed golfing, watching sports and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and would tell anyone who would listen just how much he loved his grandkids. Outside of family, his true passion was yardwork. If it wasn’t raining, he would be tinkering in his or his son’s yard and talking to anyone who passed by. His unwavering love and commitment to his family will never be forgotten.
Kent is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Johnson, sons Jeff and Gregg with daughter-in-law Holly, grandchildren Katie and Nicholas, brother Jeff with sister-in-law Lydia, and nieces Violet and Lucinda.
We miss you Kent, Dad, Papa & Uncle Kent.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time. Please continue to keep Kent's family in your thoughts and prayers.
