Charles Larry Bacon, 84, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. He grew up in Miami Springs, Florida, where he developed the discipline, determination, and sense of humor that would define his life.
Larry proudly served his country as a United States Marine and Naval Aviator, flying combat missions during the Vietnam War and earning multiple honors for his bravery and service. He later built a long and respected career with Delta Air Lines, flying internationally for more than 30 years. He also continued his military service in the Marine Corps Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel.
Larry was known for his professionalism, calm leadership, and sharp wit. He found joy in golf, travel, reading, art, and music, and his humor and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine; Sister; Cheryl (Jim). Niece; Nicole (Chris). Nephew; Larry (Marie Louise). Children; Michael (Karen), Ken, Elizabeth, St. Amand. Cherished Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. Larry will be remembered for a life well lived, marked by service, integrity, and heart.
