

He lost his father at five and stayed until he was 17, leaving due to civil war. He left by ship to South Korea, where he stayed in Seoul. Soon after arriving he married Hsien Chi and had four children, one son and three daughters.
He studied culinary skills to support his family, working at various restaurants and hotels. He eventually opened his own restaurant as well. In the early 1970s he and his family immigrated to the USA, moving around from Hawaii to Georgia and finally settling in Birmingham, Alabama.
He opened restaurants in Birmingham that were very successful, the Mandarin House and Golden City. He used his success to support his family’s education and help his siblings, who stayed in China.
He helped his friends through rough times and was a generous giver to those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He will be very missed.

A funeral service will occur Monday, May 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 136 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A committal service will occur Monday, May 19, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 136 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
