Diane G. Alexander passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024, at the age of 54. She was born November 6, 1969, in Columbus, GA to loving Parents, Diane and Richard Grabiak. Diane will be deeply missed by her children, Richard Bayne and Taylor Gray Alexander, as well as her sisters, Allison Grabiak, Cindy (Clifton) Bobbitt, and her brother, Jeff (Jennifer) Grabiak. She was a cherished aunt to her nieces, Jessica (Austin) Flachbarth and Nichole (Ben) Fogle, nephews Matthew (Jill) Grabiak and Will Bobbitt, and great aunt to Stella, Max and Owen. Diane also leaves behind numerous stepchildren and grandchildren and special fur-friend Tusk.
Diane was a loving and devoted mother, and raised her children in Watkinsville in a kind, generous home. She loved singing and dancing with them as children and was fond of calling them as adults and belting out a familiar tune. She was known for her kind and caring nature, and showered friends, family and strangers with her beautiful smile and warm hugs. She was generous beyond measure, always putting others before herself. Diane's warm heart and genuine love touched the lives of all who knew her.
Diane enjoyed sitting outside watching the hummingbirds and cardinals in her backyard or on the back deck with Mom; she loved every animal she encountered, especially her constant companion, Tusk. She especially loved visiting the family cabin in Fortson, GA and taking the boat out, winter or summer.
Diane remained close with many friends from high school and from her time in Watkinsville and shared many memories at the beach and lake as well as festive lunches and dinners. She recently reunited with others at her recent high school reunion and was so happy to reconnect and rekindle friendships.
Friends and family are invited to attend the ceremony to honor Diane's life, which will be held at the Sandy Springs Chapel located at 136 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Diane's memory to Hope By Design, a local charity benefiting children and families in need where she spent many afternoons helping customers and staff ( https://hopebydesignga.org/). She would also love any contributions made to your local Humane Society.
Diane will forever be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her compassionate nature. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
