Doris Virginia Allen Martin

Doris Allen Martin, November 2, 1925 to April 30, 2014, was the daughter of the late Thomas Edgar and Tamer Mulkey Allen and the wife of the late Boyd Harold Martin, Sr. (deceased). She is survived by her children and their spouses: Sharon Martin Liner and her husband Gaines Liner of Weddington, North Carolina; and Hal Martin and his wife Carol Martin of Atlanta, Georgia. Also, surviving are grandchildren; Preston Martin of Virginia, Brandon Martin and his wife Anna of Virginia; Taylor Martin of North Carolina; Adriane Lippian and her husband Jim Lippian of Texas; Stephanie Liner and her husband Rama Nayar of New York and six great grandchildren. Doris Martin was born in Atlanta, Georgia, participated in many church activities and committees; retired from Internal Revenue Service as a Trainer Coordinator in the Southeastern office; enjoyed community service and involvement in clubs and fund raising activities. She resided at Sharon Towers in Charlotte, North Carolina the last years of her life. She maintained a positive attitude with joy and smiles until her death. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sharon Towers for their attention and care during her last years of life. There will be a graveside service followed by interment at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy., Atlanta, Georgia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Northside Drive Baptist Church, 3100 Northside Drive, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30305 or Sharon Towers, 5100 Sharon Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28210.
