Mrs. Florence Decovsky died peacefully on July 30, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. She was surrounded by her loving family when she lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Florence was born and raised in the Bronx, and eventually moved to East Northport, Long Island to raise her family. She had a passion for teaching, and was a special education teacher in Kings Park, New York.
Florence loved spending time with her friends and family, and she enjoyed reading, traveling, scrapbooking, watching movies, and mahjong. She was a loving mother and a devoted Bubbie, and above all, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children; Eric Decovsky, Todd Decovsky (Brandi), Caryn Cohen (Randy), and her four grandchildren; Samantha, Emily, Ethan, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her husband Stuart Decovsky.
Graveside services held in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA on August 1, 2018 at 10:30am, officiated by Rabbi Barry Coffsky.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Florence Decovsky to the following groups: Weinstein Hospice of Atlanta or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
