Frank Leroy McCune

Born August 1,1950 in New Kensington, PA to William and Betty McCune, Frank attended the University of Miami, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Architecture. In 2016 he retired as a Senior Planner after working for Miami-Dade County for 43 years. In August 1981, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Gentle, in Hillsborough, NC. He became a proud father to two sets of twins and a doting “papa” to five grandchildren. Frank was an avid sports fan and supported all Miami teams, including the Dolphins, Canes, Heat, Marlins, and Panthers. He loved architecture, and was particularly fond of rocks and fossils. Frank was beloved by his coworkers, friends, and family, including a large group of friends in Miami affectionately known as “Bud Light Night”. Frank was a humble, gentle, kind, and loving soul, who always put his family first. He will be forever in our hearts.

Frank is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie; his siblings, Darlene Siembida, Gary, and Ronnie; his sister-in-law, Dr. June Gentle; his children and their spouses, Fletcher and Maria Irene, Franklin and Katharine, Brenden and Kimberly, and Brittany and Paul White; his grandchildren, Harper, William, Jude, Ethan, and Maria Virginia (Gigi), and several nieces and nephews.
