

Grace Self James, age 80, of Sandy Springs died January 2, 2017. Grace was born in Atlanta and had lived in several states, including Mississippi, Rhode Island and Tennessee and several cities in Georgia but always considered Atlanta her home. She attended North Fulton High School; Belmont College and Massey Business School. As a medical secretary she had co-authored a medical text book, but above all she was a devoted homemaker, best Mom ever and a loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Floyd James; her parents Holbert Milton Self and Della Lamb Self. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Imperatori of Sandy Springs; her son Tony James of Statesboro, GA; sister- in- law Sue Self of Alpharetta, GA and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 with the interment immediately following in Arlington Memorial Park Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
