Heather Christina Reid Nix, age 40, passed away April 27th at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. She will be remembered as a selfless, loving person who loved to laugh. Mrs. Nix was born June 30, 1973 in Summit, New Jersey. The family moved to Dunwoody, Georgia in 1979. Heather was a graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School and the College of Charleston. She worked for several area companies including National Allergy Supply in Duluth, GA and Bellsouth, Inc. She married Stephen E. Nix of Spartanburg, South Carolna in 1997. They have lived in the Atlanta area since then. They have two sons, Matthew age 12, and William age 10. Heather was an active volunteer at her children’s schools, and participated in several events for the Autism Speaks organization. She was an avid reader and movie-goer, and enjoyed playing in various recreational tennis leagues. Heather was preceded in death by her father Randall Reid of Marlton, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband, two children, her sister Katie Weaver of Chamblee, GA, and her parents Ryner and Evelyn Wittgens of Gainesville, GA. A visitation open to all will be held on Sunday May 4th from 4-6 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
