

Dr. Henry Y. Ozaki, 87, of Sandy Springs, formerly of Boca Raton, FL, died December 27, 2010. Dr. Ozaki served in the 442d Regimental Combat Team of the US Army in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his master’s and PhD degrees from Cornell University. For 34 years, he worked as a research professor for the University of Florida and was recognized as a professor emeritus. While living in Boca Raton, Florida he was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton, volunteering with the Sunday School and on Habitat for Humanity builds. He is survived by his wife, Lettie A. Ozaki, daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jim Holmes of Atlanta, son and daughter-in-law Jim and Jody Ozaki of Sandy Springs, brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Dannise Ozaki of Melbourne, FL, Charles Ozaki of Jacksonville, Fl and John and Amy Ozaki of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Daniel, Hana, Kathryn and Karisa. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church or Habitat for Humanity.
