Holly Boyett, 89, a longtime Atlanta resident, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and one of Atlanta’s most accomplished residential real estate professionals, passed away on October 5, 2026.
Born November 11, 1936, Holly grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, with her twin sister, Nancy, and her brothers, Richard and William. She later attended Oneonta State Teachers College, where she studied elementary education and formed friendships that lasted throughout her life.
Holly married James Arthur Landon in 1959, and they had two children, Kim and Brad. After their divorce, Holly worked as a substitute teacher before beginning the real estate career that would define much of her professional life.
In 1972, she married Dr. James Edward Boyett, and through that marriage welcomed stepdaughters Joye and Janet into her family. Holly went on to become one of Atlanta’s leading residential real estate agents, building a successful career over more than three decades. Her legacy in real estate continued through her daughter, Kim Boyd, and granddaughter, Kathryn Boyd Crabtree. Holly married Ronn Young on December 18, 2021, and together they shared a love of playing bridge, dancing, and traveling.
Holly was known for her warmth, generosity, loyalty, and remarkable ability to stay connected to people throughout her life. She loved entertaining and was known as the ‘hostess with the mostess,’ always opening her home to others. She never met a stranger. She treasured friendships, family gatherings, cards, photographs, and the many memories she carefully preserved in scrapbooks over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Willis Hallenbeck and Melda Blanche Plummer Hallenbeck; her brothers, Richard Alan Hallenbeck and William Carl Hallenbeck; her twin sister, Nancy Roehm; her husband, Dr. James Edward Boyett; her stepdaughter, Janet Boyett; and her daughter-in-law Robin Landon.
Holly is survived by her husband, Ronn Young; her daughter, Kim Boyd, and her husband, Stephen; her son, Brad Landon, and his wife, Veronika; her stepdaughter, Joye Nurre, and her husband, Bob; four granddaughters, Kathryn Crabtree (Bill), Kelly Spring (Berton), Sarah Landon, and Alyssa Landon; and great-grandsons Boyd Crabtree, James Crabtree, and Campbell Spring, with another great-grandchild on the way.
Holly was also a beloved aunt to the children of her siblings, including Glenn Bailey, Laurie Ecke, Meg Jett and Bill Bailey; Trisha LeRoux and the late Jay Hallenbeck; and Amanda Hallenbeck and William “Travis” Hallenbeck.
Holly lived with resilience, energy, generosity, and a deep love for the people around her. She will be remembered not only for her remarkable career, but for the relationships she nurtured and the life she so fully embraced.
A private family gathering will be held in Holly’s memory.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Weini Nguse, whose devoted and compassionate care comforted Holly to the very end.
