Hugh Buzzy Edward Self Sr.

Hugh Edward Self, Sr. (Buzzy) of Alpharetta, GA, died July 18, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones. Hugh was born in Alpharetta, GA on August 15, 1930. He retired from Lockheed in 1990, after 42 years of employment, where he oversaw crucial components on the C-5 and C-130 aircraft series. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sary C. Self. Hugh is survived by sons, Hugh E. (Ed) Self, Jr. and his wife Kay, of Cumming, GA, Bryant Self of Alpharetta, GA; daughters, Sandra Wedlake and her husband, Bruce, of Suwanee, GA, and Susan Duran and her husband Jeff, of Marietta, GA; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister Grace James of Statesboro, GA and sister-in-law, Sue Self of Alpharetta, GA. Funeral Services will be held at Sandy Springs Chapel on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park, immediately following the service. Rev. Gerral Richards will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 3pm until 5pm and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
