Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Ira attended Hope High School, Wilbraham and Monson Academy, and Bryant College. He was a retired traveling salesman. Ira was an avid tennis player and reader, he loved to travel, his passions were mainly baseball and sports, he loved to bet on the horses and everything Italian. He fiercely loved his friends and family.
Ira is survived by his daughter, Leslie H. Giblin, her husband Fran; his sons
David J. Zimmerman; Lawrence J. Zimmerman and his wife Jen; grandchildren Casey, Tori, Charlie, and Ryan, as well as many cousins.
Funeral Services will be followed by Interment at Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta, Georgia.
