He leaves behind a legacy built on dedication, quiet strength, and a deep loyalty to the people and animals who filled his life with meaning.
James was a devoted husband and a man whose character spoke in actions more than words. He built a respected career as a Technical Program Manager for UKG, where his sharp mind, calm leadership, and remarkable ability to bring order to complexity made him deeply valued by colleagues across the organization. His work ethic, insight, and steady presence set a standard that will not be forgotten.
James possessed a rare writing talent—expressive, detailed, and deeply honest. Throughout the illness that ultimately took his life, he documented each moment with extraordinary clarity, reflecting courage, resilience, and a profound inner strength.
He loved traveling with his wife, scuba diving, ecotourism, hiking, boating, woodworking, splitting wood, and caring for his beloved pets. His humor, compassion, and steady presence will be forever missed.
James is survived by his loving wife, AnJannette Hale Watts; his mother, Jody Watts; his siblings Jeff Watts, Jon Watts, and Judy Watts Watson; and his cherished furry children—Elvis, Finnegan, Onyx, and Shadow.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on December 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Iron Horse Golf Club. All who knew and loved James are welcome to attend.
Attire is casual, but in keeping with Iron Horse Golf Club policy, no T-shirts or ripped jeans are allowed. If you would like to bring an item, picture, or memento, there will be a table available to display those items.
