I think of you often, my sweet friend. I know you are in heaven now, vibrant, laughing, full of the joy and humor you shared with us while you were here. I miss you every day.

Hello Jeff and Irina... I am very shocked and saddened to learn of this news. Though I haven't seen her for many years , we were very close when I lived in Atlanta and was nursing alongside her. We had many fun times together at work and off work. We sort of lost track of each other when I moved back to Savannah in 2004. She saw me when she came down here the end of 2004.Irina I hosted your baby shower and remember fun times at the playground. She is a light that can never be put out. I met Jana over 30 years ago when we were transferred to Atlanta.  She showed me all the highlights around the area and fun things to do!  Over the years, we celebrated  birthdays, new babies, concerts,
graduations and of course shopping!!!! In good times and bad, Jana always made food to share. She was a great cook!

Jana was my bestie for 50+ years.  I’m already missing our lunches and frequent phone calls. When we moved to TX from Atlanta the summer of 2012, Jana surprised us with the most delicious chicken casserole and a gallon size zip loc bag stuffed with the most amazing homemade cookies. After the movers left, we enjoyed Jana’s still warm and tasty meal, and the cookies were the talk of our road trip with a cat and dog begging for a taste. Jana was one of those special friends that intuitively knew what to do to make a friend feel better. Even though we never returned to live in GA, Jana and I remained in touch and always shared news about Irina and my daughter Lizzy. The two times I visited Atlanta since our move, I made the trip up to Sandy Springs to visit my dear friend who was battling like a warrior to beat her illness. Our last picture was this summer where we made plans for her visit to Massachusetts where I offered to show her and Jeff our favorite spots. My life was made richer by my friendship with Jana. We started out as neighbors and ended up being friends. Jana always loved well and forgave quickly. I pray that she is finally healthy and resting in eternal peace. Jana was a kind caring person and I feel blessed to have her as a friend . She will be greatly missed.  She fought a good fight for a long time.

So glad to have been in Bible study with Jana for several years at CBS.  She loved Jesus and depended on God's faithfulness.  She enjoyed sharing about her wonderful family and was so proud of her daughter, Irina.  Our CBS class and I will miss our dear friend.
