

She was the youngest of six children; twin sisters Mary and Mable, and 3 brothers Bubba, Roy and Bobby. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She is survived by her daughters Stacie Wall Broadway (Steven) and Jamie Wall (James Morton); grandson Logan Tye Dennis, treasured nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her son Frank Tye Wall and husband Frank E. Wall.
When Jean was very young, the Tye family moved to Savannah, GA where she spent her youth and young adult life. She was very proud of her Savannah heritage. She was very active when she was young, playing basketball and lifeguarding. Jean graduated from Savannah High school at 16 years old and earned her associates degree from Armstrong State in Savannah. She eventually moved to Atlanta to work as a bookkeeper at Life of Georgia where she would meet her husband, Frank Wall.
When the Atlanta Falcons franchise was awarded to Atlanta in1966, Frank was the General Manager and later President. Jean was the first official bookkeeper for the Falcons. When she and Frank married, she left the Falcons to be a wife and mother. She was fiercely proud of our family’s affiliation with the organization and remained a lifelong Falcons fan. She spent many Sundays at Fulton County Stadium and the Georgia Dome cheering for the Falcons.
Jean was a long-time member of Atlanta Country Club where she was an avid golfer and tennis player. She was active in her Sandy Springs community, served as PTA president for Heards Ferry Elementary School and a member of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church. She enjoyed many years of playing tennis with her neighborhood friends. When Jean later moved to Marietta, she worked part time at East Cobb Dental office where she made cherished lifelong friends.
Jean loved reading, line dancing, listening to music, watching UGA Football and the Braves. She was very social and enjoyed spending time with family and the many friends she made throughout the years. She enjoyed a good scotch on the rocks.
To honor Jean there will be a family visitation at the Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs GA from 12 – 1 pm EST on Friday January 30th, followed by the funeral service at 1 pm EST.
The family will welcome guests to celebrate Jean’s life following the funeral service at the home of Jamie Wall and James Morton on Friday January 30th.
The burial will be on Sunday February 1st at 12:30 EST at Arlington Memorial Park.
