

Jessie R. Long, 97, longtime resident of Dunwoody, GA, more recently of Merrill Gardens in Roswell, GA, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011. She was a longtime member of Dunwoody Baptist Church. Her hard work led to the formation of the Young at Heart program at the church. She will always be remembered for her famous deviled eggs which were the first to go at Young at Heart meetings. She was a gifted clothes maker. She grew and nurtured many varieties of flowers. She was predeceased by her husband, George Long and her grandson, Randy Waggoner. She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Jack) Blake of Roswell, GA and Jerry (Bob) Waggoner of Roswell, GA; grandchildren Brad (Lisa) Waggoner of Murphy, NC, Terri (Robert) Buster of Birmingham, AL, and Cliff (Sherri) Buster of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Sandy Springs Chapel from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
