Joseph John Wittman Sr.

Mr. Joseph J. Wittman, Sr. of Norcross was born October 9, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY and died March 9, 2011. Mr. Wittman served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1991 from the Navy Reserve as a Commander. His undergraduate studies were at St. John’s University and he received his Master’s Degree from Hofstra University, both in New York. After 20 years with National Data Corporation, he retired as a Vice President. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and was active in the Forest Hills Home Owners Association. Mr. Wittman enjoyed playing golf, reading, woodworking and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn P. Wittman, children, Richard J. Wittman of Marietta, Patricia Pekatos of Roswell, Robert P. Wittman of NY, Marianne Foster of Roswell and Joseph J. Wittman, Jr. of Sandy Springs; grandchildren, Christine Pekatos, John Wittman and Elizabeth Wittman. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Entombment services will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
