

On January 7th, 2012, 3 years to the day after his sweetheart's, Stella, homegoing, Kenneth Eugene Henson, age 90, was sovereignly called home by his Savior. His distinguished career as a pilot began in the 14th US Airforce during World War II with the Flying Tigers. After his honorable discharge, he went on to have a 35 year flying career with Eastern Airlines retiring in 1981. He was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, since 1965, having served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and elder. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ray Johnson of Blue Ridge, Ga; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sherry Henson of Conyers, Ga; Daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Neal Hopper of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service to celebrate his life will be at Mount Vernon Baptist Church 850 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, Ga, 30327, on January 12th, Thursday at 11 am. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11th from 6 to 8 pm at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, Ga 30328.
