

Marion B. Russell of Roswell was born in Charlotte NC and lived there for 40 years before moving to Sandy Springs. She was an award winning member of the 4H, was a Girl Scout leader and taught Sunday School for many years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she was a loving homemaker, skilled seamstress and worked in the newborn nursery at Northside Hospital. Marion was a graduate of Berryhill High School in Charlotte and attended UNC-Greensboro as a home economics major. She was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, having married Don Russell in 1947.Survivors also include her Daughter and Sons- In- Law, Jeanne and Stewart Anthony, Susan and David Higdon, Daughter- In- Law, Caren Russell and was preceded in death by her son, Richard Edward Russell. She is also survived by Grandchildren, Ashley Sanders (Sean), Meredith Dutlinger (Andy), Taylor Higdon, Matthew Russell (Bridget), Christopher Russell, Bradley Russell, Jason Higdon, Great Grandchildren, Noah Sanders, Ella Sanders, Hutch Dutlinger, Blake, Zack, Haleigh, Evan, and Ryan Higdon. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ron Gilreath will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park.
