of Lakeland, FL, he was predeceased by his father, Marion Wilder Sloan, his
mother, Elba Jinks Sloan, and his sister, Mary Jean Sloan. There are no immediate
survivors. Mr. Sloan was a 1951 graduate of Vanderbilt University, a former
Sandy Springs High School English teacher who directed numerous plays and
musicals there, and for a number of years a member of the original faculty of the
Governor’s Honors Program. He went on to become the Director of Humanities
for Encyclopedia Britannica Education Corporation in Chicago. He was a Mason.
Graveside Inurnment Services will be held Sunday, All Saints Day, November 1,
2015 at 3 p.m. in the Sandy Springs Historic Cemetery. Dr. Al Clarke will
officiate.
