Michael Eugene Rue

Michael Eugene Rue, age 30, of Sandy Springs, died November 1, 2012. Born in Montgomery, AL, Michael was a 2001 graduate of North Springs High School. He was employed by Here To Serve Restaurants, most recently as a Manager at Noche in Vinings. He is survived by his parents, Walt and Mary Rue of Sandy Springs; sisters, Kristen Fowler and her husband Jeff of Marble, NC and Kathryn Porubsky-Rue and her wife Autumn of Cambridge, MD; brother, Jonathan Rue and his wife Bethany of Washington, DC and grandmother, Georgia Nicholson of Chattanooga, TN. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Walter and Elizabeth Rue and Brearley Eugene Nicholson. He is also survived by nephews, Joshua, Noah and Seth Fowler, several aunts and uncles, his beloved cousins and friends too numerous to count. Michael was a lover of all sports but was especially passionate about golf and “his” Clemson Tigers. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, 86 Mt. Vernon Hwy NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, with Dr. Gary Whetstone officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Baldrick’s Foundation, The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.

Walt & Mary, I was so saddened to hear of Michael's passing today when I went to see Kelly Dopson for an appointment. I can't imagine or even find words to say sorry I am that you lost such a vibrant, funny young man. Just know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Omg!!! Just found out about my dear friend. Im so hurt by this news. God bless his family. He was one of the greatest guys i ever met. He was my brother my friend. We were each others counselors every night after work. I will never forget Mike Rue!
