David was born October 31, 1978 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to Sherry and Mike Wilkie.

He was raised in Marietta, Georgia with his sister, Katharine. He graduated from Walton High School in 1997 where he excelled in golf, basketball, and anything that you could bounce or throw! After high school David attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado for two years.

David and Tatiana married in 2001 and lived in Cumming, GA. They had three beautiful children; Connor (18), Annabella (15), and Haylee (14). David’s greatest joy in life was being their ‘Dad’. David’s second love was golf, when he picked up his first club at the age of five. David currently holds the 9 hole course record at Hawks Ridge Golf Club with a blistering score of 29. He eventually became a golf caddie for most of his adult life. David’s passion the last several years was transferring his incredible knowledge of the game to his son, Connor.

David loved the outdoors. Whether he was hiking in the Colorado mountains or those of north Georgia, David found solace. As well, he loved walking on the sandy beaches of the Gulf coast or just being out on the links.

David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 6 years old and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Atlanta. He was a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church for many years, and enjoyed worshipping with his children at Passion City Church these last few years.

David and I spent so much of our childhood together. Cub scouts, baseball teams, basketball teams, countless bike rides to each other’s house, Eastside school, vacations and the list goes on. David taught me early on to take risks and live life to the fullest even at a young age. David never let an obstacle get in his way of living life. Even when he was wearing a knee brace he insisted on playing baseball.. He was great at every sport he played, such an athlete!

Mike and Sherry thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life and David’s! I hope you know that many of my fondest childhood memories included you and your family. May God give you peace during this time.

David was like a member of our family from sixth grade and past his high school years . He and my son, Jordan Morgan, along with Reese Stead, were like the three musketeers, for many years. David went on several family vacations with us, and I loved him as my own.
My heart breaks for his children, his family, and all those who new and loved, David. Pray you are now enjoying the peace, and serenity, of your Lord and Savior, Jesus.
