She lived in the community of Kirkwood her younger years where her family were members of
Kirkwood/Rainbow Park Baptist. This created a foundation of church memberships,
developing lifelong friendships, to include Sandy Springs First Baptist, Lilburn First
Baptist and North Metro Baptist Church. She married her sweetheart, Marion P Murray,
Jr., June 7, 1952 and they had a wonderful life together celebrating their love for 66
years with traveling, serving the community and serving in church, with their greatest
accomplishment being their two daughters, Cindy and Meredith. Most of their married
life they lived in Dunwoody until she opened her real estate office which relocated the
family to Lilburn.
Norma was a Real Estate Broker for many years with Clover and
ReMax Greater Atlanta. After retiring from a very successful real estate career she did
not choose the traditional retirement but took her many talents and became the HR
Director at Silgan Plastics, which she loved. During these years she enjoyed taking
computer classes and learning the latest technology, always having a thirst for
knowledge during her 10 years with Silgan. She and Marion were proud members of
the Gwinnett Chapter of Gideons International. Norma also was the charter member of
the Gourmet Girls of Sandy Springs for over 50 years. She and Marion enjoyed
refurbishing and designing music boxes for community charity craft shows.
Such a Godly woman that showed through every decision, encouraging, mentoring or consoling
word for a friend or family member with Bible based wisdom and love. She treasured
those aspects of her life, but her priority in life was being a devoted Daughter, Wife,
Mother, Mema, Grandma, Aunt, Niece and Cousin.
