Preston Carl Upshaw Jr.

Mr. Preston C. Upshaw, Jr., 74, of Marietta died January 19, 2011. He was an accomplished Bluegrass musician and songwriter, Mr. Upshaw’s career was with Lockheed Martin Corporation where he retired after 30 years of service. A graduate of Georgia Tech, he also served as a medic in the U.S. Army and was an active member of American Legion Post 216. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Upshaw, daughter Katherine Barbosa of Ball Ground, son, Preston C. Upshaw, III of Acworth, sister, Anne Chalmers of Washington D.C. and Grandchildren, Katiana Leigh Barbosa Upshaw, Mason Wesley Upshaw and Cameron Gilman Upshaw. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 1 p.m. in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
