Rebecca was born in Greenville, SC and moved to Atlanta at a young age where she attended Atlanta Schools. Her education continued in Strasbourg, France for a year followed by college at Western Colorado University and finishing at Georgia State University. She had a successful business career at IBM as a systems engineer and in HQ staff positions. A highlight of her working career was as Director of Volunteer Services at Chastain Horse Park in the therapeutic riding program, working with children and adults with disabilities. She loved all the horses in the program and rode her favorites, Chief and Foxy. In 2012 a sad event occurred when Rebecca and Bill suffered the loss of their beautiful daughter Katherine.
Rebecca loved animals. She watched veterinary shows and was a dedicated fan of Crocodile Hunter with Steve Irwin and Animal Planet shows in general. She was a loving mother to two dogs: a Dalmatian and a West Highland Terrier. Each of them lived for 17 years due to her attention and care.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her sister, Susan; her brother in-law, Arthur Liang; nephews, Arthur and Michael Liang; stepchildren, Holly McClung Reusing and Will McClung, Jr. and other extended family and good friends located throughout the country and Mexico.
Rebecca had a lifelong and unwavering belief in God supported by her daily prayers. She had a big heart and cared deeply about injustice in general and care and treatment of animals specifically. Donations in her name may be sent to www.humaneworld.com or any animal welfare organization. Services will be private per the family's request.
