She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Frank Dashiell of Avondale Estates, GA. Her husband William Lumpkin Scott, Jr. preceded her in death. On June 23, 1966, she married William Lumpkin Scott, Jr. and they were married for 36 years, at the time of his death. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1958 and was the leader of her reunion committee for many years. She graduated from Stetson University with a B.A. in English. At Stetson University, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. After completing her undergraduate studies, she received a Masters of Arts in English from Georgia State University. Robin was an English instructor at Avondale Estates High School and went on to teach at the college level, where she made lifelong relationships with many teachers and students. After her daughters were born, she was a stay at home mom and dedicated her life to God, her husband and his business, their daughters, their school, sports and extracurricular activities, as well as her many friends. She was a devoted member and supporter of Dunwoody Baptist Church. She was a life-long volunteer for many organizations, including Woodland Elementary School, Sandy Springs Middle School, Avondale Estates Garden Club, Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association and president of the Branches Club, where she and her family resided. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Scott Nixon and her children, Davis Taylor Nixon, Connor Scott Nixon and Abigail Grace Nixon, and Susan Scott Holland and her husband Scott Harry Holland and their children, William Scott Holland and Haley Elizabeth Holland. Robin is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet; she opened her heart and her home to many friends who will sorely miss her. The family will receive friends at the Visitation on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 7-10 P.M. at Sandy Springs Funeral Home and the funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2 P.M. in the chapel at Sandy Springs Funeral Home, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, 404-255-8511. A Private Interment will be held at Arlington Memorial Park.
