

He was born on January 18, 1929, in Mayfield, Kentucky, the son of Earl and Lillie Green.
Dr. Green attended David Lipscomb University and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University. He went on to receive a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Business Administration from Indiana University.
He had lived in Georgia since 1957 and served on the faculty of the Georgia Tech College of Management for more than 36 years. In addition to teaching, Dr. Green held several leadership roles including Director of the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs, Associate Dean, and Acting Dean of the College. In these positions, he guided the academic and professional development of hundreds of students.
As both a graduate student and a faculty member, Dr. Green was invited to join several professional and honorary organizations. He was also active in faculty governance at Georgia Tech, serving multiple years as Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and Chair of the Faculty Status and Grievance Committee.
Beyond his faculty roles, Dr. Green played a key part in the Executive Education Programs of the College. He was also active in executive education and consulting in the U.S., Canada, and Venezuela.
From 1978 to 1980, he served as president of the Georgia Conference of the American Association of University Professors.
In the community, Dr. Green was a longtime member of the Druid Hills Civitan Club, serving two terms as president.
Before joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Green served as an officer in the U.S. Naval Supply Corps during the Korean Emergency. He was also a faculty member and liaison officer between the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Chemical Corps School at Fort McClellan, Alabama. During that time, he also taught part-time at Jacksonville State College in Alabama.
Dr. Green was married to the love of his life, Carole Wood of Bloomington, Indiana.
He is survived by numerous cousins in Kentucky and Florida.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Dr. Green most recently worshiped with the North Atlanta Congregation, where he taught various classes and spoke to many groups.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 136 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A committal service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
