

Bob Henning, 85 of Roswell, GA died unexpectedly after a fall on October 6. He will be lovingly remembered for his great wit, big laugh but most importantly, his kindness. He was born in 1926 in Chicago and proudly served his country in World War II as a member of the US Army Air Force. After attending Northwestern University, he graduated from Wayne State University and went on to a successful 36 year career with Cadillac Motor Car Division of General Motors while living in 7 states. In 1953, Bob married the love of his life, Nancy Hogan Henning who shared his love of their 3 children, Christmas, beautiful gardens, and building bluebird houses. As a Member Emeritus of the Atlanta Athletic Club he became a dedicated volunteer for the Georgia State Golf Association as a Rules Official and Course Rater; and in 2005 was honored with the Bill Todd Award for maintaining the highest standard in service and stewardship. Bob travelled extensively to golf courses all over the world with Ballybunion in Ireland and Augusta National among his favorites. In addition to Nancy, his wife of 58 years, Bob is survived by Sue Kirkpatrick (Tom), Nancy Thompson (Tony), and Kurt Henning (Melinda) along with his 6 wonderful grandchildren who he was very proud of. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am Monday before the 11 am service at the Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park on Mt. Vernon Road in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
