Serge Ulysse “Mackly” was a man whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Born in Saint-Michel de L’Attalaye, Haiti, Serge carried with him a deep love for his family, friends, and community throughout his life.
From a young age, Serge always had a heart for people, especially the youth of his hometown in Haiti. He believed that every young person deserved encouragement, guidance, and an opportunity to succeed. Whenever he could, he extended his helping hand, offering advice, support, and resources to those in need. His dream was to see others grow and prosper.
After moving to the United States, Serge continued his mission of service. Understanding the challenges many Haitian families faced because of the language barrier, he entered the tax and accounting field. Through his work, he assisted countless individuals who struggled to understand English and navigate important financial matters. He took pride in helping people complete tax filings, understand government processes, and make informed decisions for themselves and their families. For Serge, it was never just business, it was a way of serving his community.
Serge’s compassion reached far beyond his profession. He was always available to lend a listening ear, offer guidance, or provide assistance to anyone facing difficult circumstances. Whether helping a neighbor, supporting a friend, or assisting a family member, he did so with humility and sincerity. His generosity touched many lives in both Haiti and the United States, especially among the people of his parents’ hometown and the communities he proudly served.
Above all, Serge loved his family deeply. He was a devoted son, father, brother, cousin, and friend. His children brought him great pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved. His warm smile, contagious laughter, and caring spirit brought comfort and happiness to everyone around him.
Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, but we also celebrate a life well lived. Serge will be greatly missed by his mother, children, siblings, cousins, relatives, friends, and the many people whose lives were made better because of his kindness and generosity. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Serge. Your family, friends, your Atlanta community, and all those whose lives you touched will miss you dearly. Your laughter, your wisdom, and your loving heart will never be forgotten. May God grant you eternal rest and peace.
