Sylvia Herringdine

Mrs. Sylvia Pauline Herringdine, 68, of Snellville died August 12, 2010. Formerly of Monticello, GA, she had recently retired from the Center for Disease Control, and attended Snellville First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Mercer Herringdine; daughter Nancy Massey and her husband Russell Massey of Jefferson; sons Michael Herringdine and his wife Kathleen Herringdine of Cumming and Brian Herringdine of Snellville. Also surviving are her sisters, Shirley Owens and her husband Willard Owens of Milledgeville; Helen Keeling and her husband George Keeling of Lawrenceville; Brenda Harvill and her husband David Harvill of Milledgeville; brother Ronald McElheney and his wife Sandra of Rockmart and grandchildren Joshua, Victoria and Austin. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Sandy Springs Chapel. Rev. Ronald McElheney and Rev. Keith Cudd will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.0. Box 56566, Atlanta, GA 30343. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. Sandy Springs, GA.
