

Thomas Neal Morton died this Saturday the 9th of February 2013 from skin cancer at the age of 62. Born in Gary, Indiana to Lytle and Betty Morton, Tom spent his youth in Tullahoma, Tennessee and Naples, Florida before moving to Atlanta to study civil engineering at Georgia Tech. He worked as a consulting engineer for 40 years at Robert & Co., HNTB, Pond & Co., and PBSJ, and leaves behind a vast legacy of toll plazas, retention ponds, tarmacs and intersections of precise and graceful character across Atlanta and the rest of the country. Tom is survived by his wife Marti, son and daughter Thomas and Amanda, his brother Dwight of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and a host of in-laws, nephews, cousins, and family friends who revered him as their favorite Uncle Tom. A brief memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1PM at Sandy Springs Chapel.
