

Martin Van Genderen, Huntington Beach resident, was born September 22, 1931 in Indonesia, the last of ten children. He lived in Indonesia through WWII then settled in Holland. Martin emigrated to Canada and eventually to the United States where he became a citizen in 1979.
Martin married Anne in 1977, living in Southern California for many years while he worked as an engineer. They retired to Yuma, Arizona and Seattle, Washington and he enjoyed traveling throughout the world.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Anne VanGenderen (of Huntington Beach), two adult children, Martin Van Genderen and Monique Van Genderen, sisters “Lily” and “Tity” (residing in Holland), loving cousins John & Maggie Van Genderen, Betteke Croes, Wico & Evie Van Genderen, numerous devoted nieces and nephews, including Roger & Edmay Apana, Peggy & Dave Severign, Joan Van Sprew (Paul), and Bart Van Dura, step children Carrie (Mike) Shields, Tim (Lorena) Jones, and Dann (Cheri) Jones, grandchildren, Jason, Pierce & Dalton Shields, Zack & Adam Jones, and Chris & Bella Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to OC Hospice as a thank you for the wonderful care Martin received during his illness.
