Alice was born on May 5, 1926, in Los Angeles, California. She attended elementary school through high school in the Inglewood School District. After graduating from high school, Alice went to work for Northrop Aircraft. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Darrel McMahan. They were introduced by friends and quickly fell in love. Their courtship lasted just three weeks before they were married. It must have been true love, because their marriage lasted 45 years.
Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was an amazing woman whose faith in the Lord was an important part of her life. She lived a long, full, and meaningful life surrounded by family, friends, and countless wonderful memories.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly and Bert Klapproth; her beloved husband, Darrel McMahan; her daughter, Patty Potts; and her siblings, Ernie Klapproth, Peggy Omely, and Herbert Klapproth.
She is survived by her son, Darrel McMahan Jr. and his wife, Sue McMahan; daughter, Carol Trevino; and daughter, Dana Pulido and her husband, Jose Pulido III. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Sharyn Armani; Cole McMahan; Michelle McMahan; Brittany Coutts and her husband, Ryan; Ashley Edge and her husband, Eric; and Danielle Jacobson and her husband, Royce. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her love and memory with them for generations to come.
Alice was a fiercely dedicated mother. Her children and family always came first, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to the people she loved. She raised her children with strong values, faith, determination, and love. She was proud to see them go on to accomplish great things. Family was everything to Alice, and she instilled that same love of family in all those around her.
Alice loved to dance, play bridge, and golf. She was also an avid traveler and enjoyed seeing new places and making memories along the way. Of all her travels, one of her most treasured trips was her journey to England, where she had the opportunity to meet many of her relatives. She enjoyed life, treasured her friendships, and made wonderful memories wherever she went. She was blessed with a large and loving family and many dear friends who brought joy to her life.
Alice leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, family, and memories that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill, but we are grateful for the extraordinary 100 years we were blessed to have her with us.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
