Armando Nava Sr peacefully passed away on June 24, 2024 at 91 years old. He was a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was born in Rancho Sespe. Armando graduated from Santa Paula School, then, at the age of 17, joined the Army. During the Korean War, he served in the 560th Military Police Co., the Army’s Most Decorated Military Police Company. His Medals, amongst others, included the Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars.
After his return, Armando worked for the Security Department at the Port Hueneme Naval Base, while attended Ventura College. He later worked for Lockheed Aircraft, and eventually finished his career working for General Motors at the Van Nuys Plant.
He spent most of his life living in his beloved Santa Paula. Later, retiring to Arizona.
Armando enjoyed camping and traveling. He was always passionate about spending time with family. He, along with his brother Raymond, always enjoyed raising pigs, chickens, and doves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Daniel, Joe, Waldo, Raymond, Bernie, and his sister Gay. Armando leaves behind his sisters Irene and Helen, his children Armando Jr (Maeri), Eva (Joe), Larry (Tatiana) Rachel and Yvonne (Jesse), plus his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless friends who will remember him for his laugh, his smile and pleasant disposition.
