

He graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1953 and soon after proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Arthur completed basic training at Fort Ord and continued his service training at Fort Bliss before being deployed to Tachikawa, Japan, where he served for two and a half years.
Upon returning home, Arthur married Evangeline “Chickie” Castor. Together, they had three daughters. He is survived by his daughters Elaine (Eddy) Martinez and Cynthia (Paul) Riedmiller, and was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Karena (Albert) Chamorro, Phillip Martinez, and Kaylee Riedmiller.
He is also survived by his siblings Gilbert Rodriguez and Gloria Balderas, his stepdaughter Debbie, and step-grandchildren Teddy and Marie.
In 1974, Arthur married Stella Cantu. They shared 49 years of marriage. Arthur was preceded in death by his first wife, Evangeline (1979); second wife, Stella (2023); his daughter Eileen (2020); and his stepson Jess (2025). He was also preceded in death by siblings Becky, Richard, Alice, and Danny.
Arthur dedicated over four decades of his life to the City of Santa Paula Public Works Department. Starting as a Sector Leader, he worked his way up to Public Works Superintendent, retiring in 1998 after 40 years of loyal and committed service.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, deep devotion to family, and unwavering sense of duty. Arthur's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel, located at 128 S 8th St, Santa Paula, CA. Visitation will take place from 9am to 11am, with a Rosary beginning at 10am. Graveside services will follow at 11am at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula, CA.
