
Clarence Richard Marshall, Jr., 88, a rancher in Fillmore and Santa Paula, passed away on Sat., Jan. 1, 2022. Clarence was born to Clarence Richard, Sr., and Florence Bertha (Pucher) Marshall in Santa Paula on May 19, 1933. He was raised in the Santa Paula area on the family citrus ranch. He married the former Caroyle Sehorn on Jan. 11, 1952. Following Caroyle’s passing in 2007, Clarence married the former Theodora Priatna on Jun. 25, 2009, who survives him. He worked for the Union Oil Company of California in and around Santa Paula for nearly 40 years before retiring to take up his second career as a citrus rancher, a career which he pursued for 30 years with skill, determination, and a single-minded focus on producing the highest quality crops possible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marie Nisbet and Barbara Roina, and one brother, Frank Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Theodora Marshall of Fillmore, son Richard Marshall and wife Shelley of Shingle Springs, daughter Keri Billy and husband Richard of Brentwood, He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private burial will take place at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery on Jan. 11, 2022.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Paula.
