David Samora Garcia, lover of his family, sports, and the casino, left our world on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 to rejoin his departed wife, Margaret Garcia. David was born on November 21, 1938 in Santa Paula, CA, to Trinidad and Felipa Garcia. He shared his childhood with his seven siblings and later went on to graduate from Santa Paula High School in 1957. On June 27, 1959, David married Margaret. They were world-wide travelers and shared a love for softball. They raised four daughters together, Kathy, Yvette, Cynthia and Sheri.
In his lifetime, David touched many lives throughout his 45-years as a devoted insurance agent, in addition to the countless hours he spent coaching his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many throughout Ventura County. He was known for his infectious laugh and witty remarks that left you with a genuine feeling of comfort. If his cellphone was turned on and his hatbox was empty, you could bet your last dollar he was on highway 154, with luck and some cash, ready to win big at Chumash.
David was preceded in death by his parents Trinidad and Felipa, wife, Margaret, brother, Javier, and sisters, Adela and Lupe. He is survived by his four daughters, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, five siblings, and several nieces and nephews. To commemorate David’s life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E. Santa Paula Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060. A rosary and mass will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 beginning at 9:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 427 N. Oak Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060. Burial service will follow at Pierce Brothers Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula, CA 93060
