

Dion Anderson peacefully passed April 26, 2026. Dion was born in Cameron County, Texas August 6, 1938. He served in the military in the US Army, Finance Corps. Dion earned a bachelor's in English Literature from Sam Houston State University, a master's in History and television Production from University of Texas, a master's in Economics and Political Science from London School of Economics and a master's of Fine Arts from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). His professional work started in Dade County, Florida teaching Shakespeare. Voice of America followed where he directed film and television programing. During the Vietnam war, he established television network facilities in South Vietnam training the Vietnamese staff. US Foreign Service and State Department took him to Iran where he established their radio/television network. In Iran, he also taught English, produced plays, film series and art exhibits. After completing his degree at LAMDA, he became theater director at the Opera House in Charlestown, West Virginia, and then went into acting-films, TV films, episodes, and theater. His resume is extensive but Shawshank Redemption, Shakespeare's Henry VIlI, and Tennessee William's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof are some highlights. Hobbies included painting, music, love for nature and pets.
Dion is preceded in death by his mother, Illean Blaine Logue and is survived by his wife-Lucinda Anderson, son and daughter-in-law-Philip and Susan Eldredge, daughter and son-in-law-Leigh Anderson and Fran Leadon, five grandchildren-Charles Eldredge, Jenny Wallgren, Amy Eldredge, Ben Leadon and Pete Leadon and five great grandchildren-Sophie Eldredge, Sylas Eldredge, Adeline Wallgren, Loren Wallgren and Rosalie Wallgren. He is also survived by his half-brother and wife, Buddy and Judy Ward.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel, 128 S 8th St, Santa Paula on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 10am. Burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula.
