Born on July 20, 1936, in Santa Paula, Gloria was raised in a large and loving family as one of 17 children. She carried those deep family values with her throughout her life, becoming the heart and foundation of her own growing family, Yucca’s Bunch.
Gloria was a devoted mother to her eight children: Rickie Ann Hackett, Janet Mendez, Debbie Madrid, John Cervantez Jr., Mark Cervantez, Mitchell Cervantez, Gabriel Luna, and Jamie Luna. She was also a proud grandmother to 31 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Family was everything to Gloria. She was known for her loving spirit, her strength, and the way she brought people together. Whether through laughter, storytelling, family traditions, or simply being present, she created a home filled with warmth and connection. She especially loved to dance, and her joyful energy could light up any room.
Gloria was preceded in death by her first husband, John Cervantez, with whom she began her family. She later married Jose Luna, with whom she continued to build her life and legacy until his passing in 2002.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Los Robles Healthcare At Home for their compassionate care, and to Christina Holladay for her unwavering support, devotion, and countless nights spent caring for her grandmother.
Memorial services will be held on June 2, 2026. Additional details will be shared by the family.
