Grete Sara Bartsch

February 27, 1931December 2, 2013

Grete Sara Bartsch Born: 2-27-31/Died:12-2-13 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Grete Bartsch. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Grete was full of joy and happiness, taking pleasure every day in the people and things around her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Many things made her special - perhaps nothing more than her way of making new friends.

She was always planning the next dinner party for new and old friends alike. Her sauerkraut will be remembered by all of her longtime friends at the Ventura Rheinland Club. Grete was born in Transylvania and came to this country with her family more than 60 years ago after being displaced from their farm by the war.

She raised her own family with Christian (Hitch) Bartsch on Ventura's West End, where she lived until her death. She is survived by her sister Katie Distl (husband Jake); sister-in-law Kaye Zerbes; sons Michael (wife Sheila) and Johnny (wife Belinda); two fine grandsons Johann and Tristan.

She was happy everyday. May we all be as happy as Grete. Services at Grace Lutheran Church, 6190 Telephone Rd., Ventura, Ca 93003 On Saturday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m.

I found a picture that shows Grete doing something that she loved. Our daughter also enjoyed making Weihnachtsplätzchen (Christmas cookies)with her.
