Lydia Sanchez Pineda

On June 28, 2026, Lydia Sanchez Alonzo Pineda, a resident of Santa Paula, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She joins her husband, Albino Pineda, who passed away in 2024, her parents, her 6 siblings and a stepson. She is survived by stepchildren Paul and Patricia Pineda, three nieces Selma Aguillon, Maria Teresa Sanchez Orellana , Genoveva Sanchez de Vanessa, and other family members.

Mrs. Pineda was born in La Libertad, El Salvador, on April 25, 1935. Her life in El Salvador was not an easy one so in 1980 she made the difficult journey alone from El Salvador to the United States in search of a better life. She landed in Los Angeles where she worked for a number of families in West LA. A few years later, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen of which she was very proud.

In 2000, a friend from church introduced Mrs. Pineda to her future husband, Albino Pineda of Santa Paula. Mr. Pineda and Mrs. Pineda started to date and soon found they shared an important common interest which was God and the Methodist church. They were married in Santa Paula on April 27, 2002. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Pineda were actively engaged in the Santa Paula Community and El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church and spent many weekends doing ministry work. Mrs. Pineda also enjoyed traveling with her husband in the U.S. and internationally.

A fervent steward of God, Mrs. Pineda will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 2, from 2-4pm at Funeraria del Angel Santa Paula at 128 S. 8th Street, Santa Paula, California.
