Rodney “Rod” Roy Reed peacefully passed away on June 22, 2025, after a long, hard-fought illness. Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Joyce Reed. He is survived by his daughter, Christion, and her husband, John; his son, Ryan, and his wife, Kellie; and his beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Addie, Kamryn, Reese, River, and Marin. He was a proud father and grandfather whose guidance and steady presence left a lasting imprint on their lives. He is also survived by his sister, Denny; brothers, Rip and Rozz, and their wives, Leslie and Lori; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rod enjoyed spending time with his family and pets, riding his motorcycle up the coast and to Las Vegas and Laughlin, playing poker, camping, and fishing at the beach, the Kern River, and Lake Isabella. He also loved his “Dad jokes”—much to the dismay of his children and grandchildren. He loved deeply, and those he loved always knew it. He was quick with a squeeze of the arm or a warm hug. Generous to a fault, Rod would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
Rod’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of his loved ones, and he is already deeply and greatly missed.
The family is currently finalizing details for his Celebration of Life, which will be held later this summer.
