With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Samuel (Sam) Arellano. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 20th 2018, at the age of 75. Sam was born January 24th 1943 in Santa Paula, CA, where he was a lifelong resident. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, and amazing grandpa! His family will cherish all their camping adventures to Yosemite, Three Rivers and Mexico.
Sam retired from Local 585 Labor Union after 28 years in construction. He was respected in his field of employment for his dedication and strong work ethics.
Sam's love of cars carried throughout the years. He restored and rebuilt classic cars for himself and friends. He was a former member of the Santa Paula Dukes and recent member of the Pachucos Car Club. You could always count on seeing Sam at Santa Paula's cruise night in one of his trophy winning classics.
We will miss his generous & loving spirit. Sam was always willing to help those in need, be it big or small, gaining him cherished relationships and lifelong friends.
Sam is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hope Arellano, Children Sammy Jr (Rosa), Kathy and Gloria. Grandchildren Richard, Nicole, Jasmine, Ashlynn, Daisy. Great Grandchildren, David and Sophia. Sister in-law, Bertha Arellano, Cousin Lupe Ontiveros, numerous nieces & nephews.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Augustine & Inez Arellano, Siblings Elvira, Amelia, Raymond and Grandson Joseph Arellano.
Rosary will be held Monday August 27th at 7pm at Saint Sebastian Church 235 N. 9th St., Santa Paula, CA; Burial Mass will be held Tuesday August 28th at 10:30am at Saint Sebastian Church;
Burial to follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery 380 Cemetery Rd., Santa Paula, CA
