Yolanda S. Johnson peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2024. A beloved matriarch, born in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. She and her husband’s journey began in the picturesque town of Santa Paula, California where their love story blossomed across the street from each other. Together, they navigated through the highs and lows of life, sharing the same high school and eventually marrying to raise a beautiful family.
In the midst of the hippie era, Yolanda fearlessly raised four children, and when they had all grown and moved on, a fifth, the baby of the family joined the fold. She epitomized patience, grace, and compassion, embodying the true essence of a nurturing mother and grandmother.
Yolanda’s doors were always open, not just to family, but to anyone in need of a listening ear and a warm meal. Her wisdom was boundless, and her advice was always dispensed with fairness and love.
Yolanda will also be remembered for her sense of style, her love for fashion, and her trademark big glasses, which added to her timeless elegance and charm.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed enough to know her.
Yolanda is survived by her 4 loving children Debra Johnson, Yvette Johnson Rivas (husband, Foster) David Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson (wife, Jenee) 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grand daughter, brothers, sisters, Norma Siquieros & Eleanor Gaeta, nieces, nephews, her entire family and a multitude of friends whose lives she touched with her radiant spirit.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Ruben Johnson, son, Ruben “Junie” Johnson Jr, grandsons, Michael A. Garcia, and Jay J. Garcia, sister Maria Elena and brother Bobby Duran.
