Or Aunt Lori, as she was known to us, was born in Georgia and grew up in El Paso, TX. She was the COOL Aunt. She had the best taste in music, a sharp wit that intuitively told you not all was as it seemed, the funniest laugh and a great taste in video games that we spent many nights enjoying. Aunt Lori enjoyed being a big kid and she never sugar coated anything for us like the real adults did. Her mother would have told you that Lori tested every boundary humanly imaginable as a child, and we’d like to think she passed this onto us as well. We’ll remember Aunt Lori for her humor, her love of animals to the point she’d take a bullet for them, allowing her nephew and nieces to play her violent video games, convincing us to jump off of scary cliffs, taking her niece to see Terminator as a toddler, Enya playing as she drove us up the Pacific Coast highway, but more than anything her laugh. She taught us that fear can be growth, to do the things we might be scared of because life is really never that serious anyways. Like many of us who lose loved ones, we’ll cherish the memories we have of her knowing that she was no saint and wish to absolutely keep it that way. We’d like to remember her as a great friend to many, a wonderful pet parent, a proud Aunt to one nephew and three nieces, and a fantastic sister.
