Bill Broyles, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Windsor early March 27, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving sister, Linda by his side along with longtime friends Leonard and Patty Ascoop. Bill was born in Fresno CA, on January 13, 1946. His family moved to Santa Rosa, CA when he was a young boy, where he attend Burbank Elementary , Cook Jr. High and Santa Rosa High schools. In 1963 Bill joined the Air Force where he served for approximately 3, then returning to the Santa Rosa area. He married in 1970, bought a home in Windsor CA. in 1979 where he spent the remainder of his life.
Bill had an appreciation for the outdoors and everything that came along with it. Fishing, hunting, boating, and camping were among his favorites. He also enjoyed traveling and went on many adventures including Hawaii, Jamaica and Mexico. Bill's true love was music. The Blues was his genre of choice; however, he appreciated most all music and enjoyed playing his congas and bongos. He would attend any concert he could. Bill also had a love for riding motorcycles. Throughout his life, he had many, however his most cherished was his 2001 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic. Above all, he loved his family and friends the most, as they did him.
Bill is survived by his sister Linda Nelson-Olufs (Richard), his nephews; Stephen Johnston III, Kevin Johnston (Sarah), Edward Johnston (Becky) Jonathon "JJ" Broyles (Michelle), Corey Johnston and nephew/Godson Benjamin Bentley (Danica) and niece/Goddaughter Stacey Bentley-Smith, as well as many great nieces and nephews, some great-great nieces and nephews, ex-wife Connie Broyles, childhood friend Fred Constant and his beloved cats. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his father, John "Bill" Broyles, his mother, Pauline Knox and his step-father James "Ed" Knox, brothers: Billy Ray Broyles, Bobby Broyles and Ronnie Broyles, his sister, Deanna Johnston, brothers-in-laws Stephen Johnston II, Mark Nelson, and great-niece Athena Bentley.
